Whether you want to strengthen your soft skills or immerse yourself in the world of software architecture - within the historic walls of Eberbach Monastery in Hesse, learning becomes a journey of discovery. 🍷 The almost 900-year-old site combines history and modernity in a unique way and provides the perfect backdrop for our next seminars from 19.11.2024.
Learning in beautiful places is more than just a concept for us at oose - it is our conviction that the right environment contributes to a more sustainable and intensive learning experience. In inspiring locations such as Eberbach Monastery, knowledge can be experienced in a whole new way. ✨ Following the success of oose. by the sea, we are continuing our event series: oose. in the monastery - where history, tranquillity and education merge into a unique experience that makes learning particularly intense and sustainable.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors experience the hospitality of one of Europe's most popular excursion destinations - according to the motto of the Cistercians: “Porta pater, cor magis - Our door is open, our heart even more so.”
Inside the monastery are the historic wine cellars, the baroque dining hall, the cloister with the arcade window by Thomas Bayrle and the impressive basilica. The abbey museum shows the history of the monastery through documents, sculptures and paintings.
The monastery became world-famous through the film adaptation of Umberto Eco's “The Name of the Rose” (1985/1986).
Wine tasting
After an intensive day of seminars, participants can look forward to a special experience: an exclusive tour of the monastery, which will provide fascinating insights into its eventful history. This is followed by a wine tasting in the wine cellar with a very special atmosphere.
We round off the evening with a dinner together with the seminar group. 🍷🍽️
It should be emphasized that the wine we taste comes from the monastery's sustainable viticulture and is made from PIWI grape varieties - mindfulness in dealing with nature and resources is the focus here.
Heritage & pleasure
Founded in 1136 by Bernhard von Clairvaux, the almost 900-year-old former Cistercian abbey is a place where tradition and modernity come together in a special way.
The cultural monument of Eberbach Abbey still captivates visitors with its simple beauty of Romanesque and early Gothic architecture and is one of the best-preserved abbeys in Europe.
Today it is run by the non-profit Eberbach Monastery Foundation, whose main task is to protect and preserve the complex. At the same time, the wine-growing tradition is continued in cooperation with the Eberbach Monastery Winery.
Line 172 runs hourly from Eltville train station to the Eberbach Monastery stop (Barockpforte). Long-distance connections from Wiesbaden, Mainz or Frankfurt are also recommended.
The exact arrival and departure times can be found in the timetable for the 'Kloster Eberbach' stop (please enter the stop and date on the separate Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund page and follow the dialog).
